Ingredients

  • 250 g mixed berries

  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 160 g rolled oats
  • 100 g plain flour
  • 90 g butter
  • 70 g brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Method

  1. Step 1

    Heat the oven to 190°C and butter a baking dish.

  2. Step 2

    Toss the apples and berries with the sugar, lemon juice, and cornstarch, then spread them in the dish.

  3. Step 3

    Rub the butter into the oats, flour, brown sugar, and cinnamon until chunky crumbs form.

  4. Step 4

    Scatter the topping evenly over the fruit without pressing it down.

  5. Step 5

    Bake for 30 to 40 minutes until the top is golden and the fruit is bubbling through the edges.

    Rest the crisp for 15 minutes so the juices thicken slightly before serving.
