Delete your Tasto account
Last updated: 17 October 2026
Tasto is made by ALTFLOW LIMITED. This page explains how to delete your Tasto account, what we delete, and what we keep and for how long. It applies to the Tasto app on iPhone and on Android.
1. Delete your account in the app
- Open Tasto and sign in to the account you want to delete.
- Tap Profile in the tab bar.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.
- Tap Continue, then Delete Account to confirm.
We delete your account as soon as you confirm. It usually takes a few seconds, and if the app stops waiting, the deletion still finishes on our server. This can't be undone.
If you use Tasto as a guest, without signing in, the same steps delete your guest account and its data.
2. Ask us to delete it
If you can't open the app, email team@foundersbrain.app from the email address linked to your account, with the subject "Delete my Tasto account". We may ask you to confirm the request. We'll delete your account within one month and let you know when it's done.
3. Your subscription is not cancelled
Deleting your account does not cancel a Tasto Pro subscription. The store you paid through keeps charging you until you cancel it there:
- iPhone: Settings › your name › Subscriptions › Tasto › Cancel Subscription.
- Android: Google Play › your profile picture › Payments & subscriptions › Subscriptions › Tasto › Cancel subscription.
If you create a new account later, you can bring back a subscription that is still running with Restore purchase.
4. What we delete straight away
When you delete your account, we delete straight away:
- your profile and settings, including your name, email address, language, units, dietary preferences, allergens, onboarding answers and the address we use to send notifications to your phone;
- your sign-in account;
- your saved recipes, your lists and the recipes you created;
- your grocery list and your meal plan;
- your Ask conversations and messages, and any AI replies you reported;
- your import history;
- your subscription record in Tasto and its history, and the records that tie your App Store purchases to your account (this does not cancel your subscription, see section 3);
- your referral reward record;
- the last email verification code we sent you, and the address it went to;
- the history of the notifications we sent you and whether you opened them;
- the offers we showed you when your subscription ended;
- which version of a screen you saw in our product experiments.
If you used Tasto as a guest and then signed in to an account you already had, we also delete the notification history, offers and experiment versions from that guest session, and the note that it was merged into your account.
A few other records from that guest session, such as purchases, codes you used or reports you sent, may stay as they were, with the old guest ID. That ID no longer belongs to any account, and nothing in our database links it to you.
Your sign-in account is the last thing we delete. In the rare case that this step fails, it is not retried automatically. If you can still sign in with the same details afterwards, email team@foundersbrain.app and we'll delete it.
A few things take a little longer:
- Data we created while processing your imports no longer links to you once your import history is gone. A daily job removes it within 30 days of the import.
- Short-lived copies in our servers' caches and job queue expire on their own within days.
Rarely, a request that was already on its way when you deleted your account, or the app if it is still signed in (for up to an hour), can add one more record afterwards, such as an analytics event. That record is not linked to any existing account.
5. What we keep, unlinked from your account
We keep the records below for tax and refunds, to prevent abuse, or to keep Tasto working for other people. We remove your account identifier and email address from them, so they are no longer linked to your account.
- Purchase records. App Store and Google Play order and transaction numbers, product, price and dates (for Google Play, also a fingerprint of the purchase token), and the messages Apple and Google sent us about your purchases. They contain no name or email address. We keep them for tax and accounting, refunds and fraud checks, for as long as tax and accounting law requires. This includes Apple's signed purchase record, which we keep as-is for tax and refunds.
- Usage analytics. These hold a random ID created when Tasto was installed on your phone, the app and phone software versions, your country and region, and what you tapped and when. We use them to understand how Tasto is used. We keep most of them for a limited time. Records of a few key moments, such as subscription changes, finishing onboarding and successful imports, are kept for as long as we need them for that.
- On iPhone, a note of each purchase or trial we reported to Meta (the event name and time), so that the same purchase is never reported twice. We keep it only as long as we need it for that.
- Recipe reports. If you reported a recipe, we keep the recipe and your reason, but not who sent the report and not your note. We use them to keep a reported recipe out of other people's imports, and keep them only as long as we need them for that.
- Invite and promo code records. Your own invite code is switched off. Records of codes you used (with the app's random install ID and your country), and of rewards your friends got through your code, are kept while we need them to prevent abuse.
- Google Play purchase links. Released without your account identifier, so that a new account can restore a subscription that is still running.
- Recipes you imported. Recipes you imported from public links, and their pictures, stay in Tasto's shared recipe library, because other people may have saved them too. Nothing in them links them to you.
6. Outside Tasto's database
Some copies are held by other companies:
- Apple and Google keep their own records of your purchases, and your subscription carries on until you cancel it with them (see section 3).
- On iPhone, Meta received purchase and sign-up events when they happened, including your email address and name in hashed form.
- Our email provider keeps a log of the verification emails it sent you.
- Our push notification provider handled your notifications.
- Our AI providers processed your Ask messages and your imports.
- Our server logs and error reports are kept for a limited time, and may contain your account identifier until they expire.
These companies are listed in section 6 of our Privacy Policy. They keep or delete their copies under their own rules.
