Terms and Conditions

IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ THESE TERMS CAREFULLY.
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") form a legally binding agreement between you and ALTFLOW LIMITED ("Tasto", "we", "our", or "us") and govern your access to and use of the Tasto mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the "Services").
By downloading, accessing, using, or continuing to use the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Services.
Certain features of the Services may be subject to additional guidelines, policies, or rules, which may be posted within the Services or otherwise made available to you. Those additional terms are incorporated into these Terms by reference.
We recommend that you save or print a copy of these Terms for your records.
1. Eligibility and Acceptance
1.1 Eligibility
You may only use the Services if you are at least 16 years of age (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) and legally capable of entering into a binding agreement under applicable law. If you are under the age required in your jurisdiction to enter into such an agreement without parental consent, you may only use the Services with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian.
1.2 Acceptance
By creating an account or using the Services, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. When you sign up, you will be presented with a statement confirming your agreement.
2. About the Services
2.1 What Tasto Does
Tasto is a recipe and food-planning app that may allow users to:
- import recipe-related content from third-party links, including social media links such as Instagram and TikTok;
- save and organise recipes;
- create lists, meal plans, and ingredient or grocery lists;
- use AI-powered features to interact with recipe or video content;
- ask the AI to adapt recipes, including ingredient substitutions, healthier variations, scaling, or similar transformations;
- access recipe-related metadata, structured instructions, ingredients, and related outputs generated or processed through the Services.
2.2 Service Evolution
We may modify, improve, suspend, remove, or discontinue any part of the Services at any time, with or without notice, to the extent permitted by law.
3. Accounts, Guest Access, and Device-Based Use
3.1 Guest Access
Some parts of the Services may be available without a full registered account. In such cases, we may associate your use of the Services with an installation ID, device identifier, or similar technical identifier.
3.2 Registered Accounts
Certain features require you to create an account using email, Google Sign-In, or Apple Sign-In. You must provide accurate, complete, and current information. You are responsible for keeping your account information up to date.
3.3 Account Security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account or device context. You must notify us promptly at team@foundersbrain.app if you believe your account has been accessed without authorisation.
3.4 Device and Access Risks
If you use the Services in guest mode or through installation-based access, some of your data, entitlements, or access may be lost if you delete the app, change devices, reset identifiers, or otherwise lose access to the relevant device context, subject to any restore or account-linking functionality we may provide.
3.5 Suspension and Termination
We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to the Services in accordance with these Terms.
4. Permission to Use the Services
4.1 Limited Licence
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable licence to access and use the Services for your personal, non-commercial use only.
4.2 Restrictions
You must not, except where expressly permitted by law or by the functionality of the Services:
- copy, reproduce, distribute, republish, download, display, transmit, or exploit the Services except as permitted through normal use;
- sell, rent, lease, licence, sublicence, or commercially exploit the Services;
- modify, adapt, translate, reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Services;
- use the Services to build a competing product or service;
- interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Services;
- access or use the Services in a fraudulent, abusive, or automated manner not authorised by us;
- attempt to bypass usage limits, paywalls, entitlement checks, security controls, or rate limits.
4.3 No Support Obligation
Unless expressly stated otherwise, we are under no obligation to provide support, maintenance, or updates for the Services.
5. Imported Content and Third-Party Platforms
5.1 Importing Links and Content
The Services may allow you to submit or import links, media, text, captions, transcripts, metadata, or other content from third-party websites, platforms, or services, including social media platforms.
5.2 Your Responsibility
You are solely responsible for ensuring that you have the right to access, submit, import, or use any content you provide to or access through the Services. You must comply with all applicable laws, contracts, and platform terms when using imported or third-party content.
5.3 Third-Party Ownership
Imported or linked content may be owned by third parties, including content creators and platform operators. Tasto does not claim ownership of third-party content solely because it is imported, referenced, processed, or displayed through the Services.
5.4 Processing and Transformation
You acknowledge and agree that, in order to provide the Services, we may process imported links and associated content to extract, structure, transform, summarise, classify, transcribe, store, display, and generate recipe-related outputs, metadata, instructions, ingredient lists, or similar results. This may include downloading, resizing, reformatting, and rehosting images or media on our own infrastructure.
5.5 No Guarantee of Availability
Imported content may later be changed, removed, blocked, restricted, or become unavailable from the original source. We do not guarantee ongoing availability of any imported source content.
5.6 Removal and Restrictions
We reserve the right to block, disable, remove, or restrict access to imported content, source domains, or features at any time, including for legal, technical, commercial, abuse-prevention, or rights-related reasons.
6. User Content
6.1 User Content Defined
"User Content" means any information, data, text, prompts, links, feedback, content, or material that you submit, upload, input, generate through, store in, or otherwise make available through the Services.
6.2 Responsibility for User Content
You are solely responsible for your User Content and for the consequences of submitting or using it through the Services.
6.3 Licence to Tasto
To the extent necessary to operate, improve, secure, support, and provide the Services, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, process, adapt, modify, create derivative works from, display, and otherwise use your User Content.
6.4 Feedback
If you provide us with ideas, suggestions, feedback, or recommendations regarding the Services, you agree that we may use them without restriction or compensation to you.
6.5 Prohibited Content
You must not submit, upload, import, store, or use any User Content that:
- infringes any intellectual property or other third-party rights;
- is unlawful, fraudulent, misleading, defamatory, abusive, threatening, hateful, or obscene;
- contains malicious code, harmful scripts, or security threats;
- is used to harass, exploit, or harm another person;
- violates applicable law or platform rules.
6.6 Monitoring and Enforcement
We may, but are not required to, monitor, review, remove, disable, or restrict User Content or access to the Services where we reasonably consider it necessary.
7. AI Features
7.1 AI-Powered Functionality
The Services may include AI-powered features, including recipe chat, content interpretation, ingredient substitution, recipe adaptation, healthier recipe suggestions, scaling, summarisation, meal planning assistance, and related outputs.
7.2 Consent for AI Features
Before using AI features for the first time, you will be presented with an in-app consent screen explaining what data is sent to our AI provider (currently OpenAI), including your messages, recipe data, and relevant profile information. You must agree to this data processing before using AI features. You can withdraw consent at any time by contacting us, though this will prevent you from using AI-powered features.
7.3 AI Limitations
AI-generated outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, misleading, unsuitable for your needs, or inconsistent with the original content. You should not rely on AI outputs as the sole basis for cooking, purchasing, dietary, or health-related decisions.
7.4 No Professional Advice
The Services do not provide medical, nutritional, dietetic, health, allergy, or other professional advice. Any AI-generated or app-generated output is for general informational purposes only.
7.5 Verification Required
You are responsible for independently verifying ingredients, allergens, substitutions, measurements, timing, temperatures, cooking steps, food safety practices, and dietary suitability before acting on any output provided through the Services.
8. Recipes, Nutrition, Allergens, and Food Safety
8.1 Informational Purposes Only
Recipes, meal plans, grocery lists, nutritional information, ingredient suggestions, and related outputs available through the Services are provided for general informational and convenience purposes only.
8.2 No Guarantee of Accuracy
We do not guarantee that any recipe, ingredient list, nutritional value, allergen information, substitution suggestion, portion guidance, or meal plan is accurate, complete, safe, suitable, or up to date.
8.3 Allergens and Dietary Restrictions
If you have allergies, intolerances, medical conditions, religious restrictions, or other dietary requirements, you must independently confirm the suitability of any recipe, ingredient, or output before use.
8.4 Cooking and Safety
Cooking involves inherent risk. You are responsible for exercising proper judgment and following safe food handling, storage, preparation, and cooking practices.
9. Meal Plans, Grocery Lists, and Organisational Features
9.1 Convenience Tools
Meal planning, grocery lists, saved recipes, folders, collections, and similar organisational features are provided as convenience tools only.
9.2 No Guarantee
We do not guarantee that any ingredient list is complete, deduplicated correctly, suitable for your household, or aligned with your dietary, budgetary, or timing needs.
9.3 User Responsibility
You remain solely responsible for reviewing and deciding whether to rely on any generated or stored meal plan, shopping list, or ingredient output.
10. Analytics and Monitoring
10.1 Usage Analytics
We collect analytics data about how you use the Services, including screen views, feature usage, interaction events, and session metadata. This data helps us understand how the Services are used and where to improve.
10.2 Error Monitoring
We use error-monitoring tools (currently Sentry) to capture and diagnose application errors and crashes. Error reports may include technical context such as device information, error messages, and stack traces.

11. Subscriptions, Trials, and Billing
11.1 Paid Features
Some features of the Services may require payment, subscription, or an active trial.
11.2 Platform Billing
If you subscribe through Apple's App Store or another third-party platform, your purchase is processed by that platform and may be subject to its terms, billing policies, refund rules, and cancellation procedures.
11.3 Renewals
Unless otherwise stated, subscriptions may renew automatically until cancelled in accordance with the relevant platform's rules.
11.4 Free Trials
We may offer free trials, promotional access, or limited entitlements. We reserve the right to determine eligibility for such offers and to modify or withdraw them at any time, to the extent permitted by law.
11.5 Free Features and Usage Limits
We may offer limited free access to certain features, including a capped number of free imports, AI interactions, or other usage allowances. We may change, suspend, or remove free features, usage limits, eligibility rules, or promotional offers at any time, subject to applicable law.
11.6 Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription through the platform through which you purchased it. Cancellation will generally take effect at the end of the then-current billing period unless otherwise stated by the applicable platform.
11.7 Restore Purchases
Where available, restore purchase functionality may help re-associate prior purchases with your current app context. However, we do not guarantee that all purchases can always be restored in every scenario, especially where device, platform, account, or identifier conditions have changed.
11.8 No Guaranteed Access to Paid Features
Paid access may depend on valid billing status, entitlement status, technical availability, and your compliance with these Terms.
12. Intellectual Property
12.1 Our Rights
The Services, including the Tasto name, branding, software, design, text, graphics, interfaces, and original content created by us, are owned by or licensed to us and are protected by intellectual property laws.
12.2 Third-Party Rights
Third-party content made available through the Services may remain the property of its respective owners.
12.3 No Transfer
Except for the limited right to use the Services under these Terms, nothing in these Terms grants you any ownership or intellectual property rights in the Services.
13. Privacy
Your use of the Services is also subject to our Privacy Policy.
By using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood our Privacy Policy and consent to the data practices described therein.
14. Third-Party Services and Links
The Services may integrate with, depend on, or include links to third-party platforms, websites, products, or services. We are not responsible for the availability, content, policies, or practices of any third-party service.
Your use of third-party services may be subject to separate terms and privacy policies.
15. Disclaimers
15.1 As-Is
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
15.2 No Warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, representations, and conditions, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, and uninterrupted availability.
15.3 No Guarantee of Results
We do not guarantee that the Services will meet your requirements, that the outputs will be accurate or useful, or that the Services will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
16. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages;
- we are not liable for loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, business opportunity, data, or anticipated savings;
- we are not liable for errors in imported content, AI outputs, recipes, nutrition data, allergen information, meal plans, grocery lists, analytics data, or third-party materials;
- we are not liable for any harm arising from your reliance on content, recipes, substitutions, or cooking instructions made available through the Services;
- we are not liable for the accuracy, availability, or content of third-party websites, platforms, or services linked to or integrated with the Services.
To the extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with the Services or these Terms shall not exceed the greater of:
- the amount you paid us for the Services in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim; and
- ยฃ100.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for: (a) death or personal injury caused by negligence; (b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; (c) any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under applicable law, including under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (where applicable).
17. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless ALTFLOW LIMITED and its officers, directors, employees, contractors, affiliates, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to:
- your use of the Services;
- your User Content;
- your violation of these Terms;
- your infringement of any third-party rights;
- your violation of any applicable law, regulation, or platform rules.
18. Suspension and Termination
18.1 By You
You may stop using the Services at any time. You can delete your account through the app or by contacting us at team@foundersbrain.app. If you have a subscription, cancellation must be handled through the relevant billing platform.
18.2 By Us
We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to the Services at any time if:
- you breach these Terms;
- we suspect fraud, abuse, misuse, or unlawful conduct;
- continued provision of the Services is not commercially, legally, or technically viable;
- required by law, a regulator, a platform provider, or a rights holder.
18.3 Effect of Termination
Upon termination, your right to use the Services will cease immediately. For details on what happens to your data upon account deletion, please see Section 10 of our Privacy Policy. Certain provisions of these Terms will survive termination, including provisions relating to intellectual property, disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnity, and dispute resolution.
19. Changes to the Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we may provide notice through the Services or by other reasonable means. Your continued use of the Services after the updated Terms take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the Services.
20. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them (including non-contractual disputes or claims) shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
You and Tasto agree that the courts of England and Wales shall have non-exclusive jurisdiction, except where applicable consumer law gives you the right to bring a claim in another court or jurisdiction.
21. Electronic Communications
You agree that we may communicate with you electronically, including by email, in-app message, push notification, or by posting notices through the Services.
22. General
22.1 Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any incorporated policies, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Services.
22.2 Severability
If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
22.3 No Waiver
Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms shall not operate as a waiver of that provision.
22.4 Assignment
We may assign or transfer our rights and obligations under these Terms. You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations without our prior written consent.

24. App Store Additional Terms
If you download the App from Apple's App Store, you acknowledge that:
- these Terms are between you and ALTFLOW LIMITED only, not with Apple;
- Apple is not responsible for the App or its content, except as required under applicable law;
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App;
- in the event of any failure of the App to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any); to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the App;
- Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims relating to the App or your possession and/or use of the App;
- Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them against you;
- your use of the App must also comply with the applicable App Store terms, including the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
25. Abuse Prevention and Fair Use
We may implement usage limits, technical restrictions, entitlement checks, rate limiting, fraud detection, and abuse-prevention measures to protect the Services, our users, and our systems. You must not attempt to evade or interfere with these measures.
26. Copyright and Rights Complaints
26.1 How to Submit a Complaint
If you believe that any content, imported material, recipe data, image, text, or other material available through the Services infringes your copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property or legal rights, please contact us at team@foundersbrain.app.
Please include sufficient detail for us to investigate your complaint properly.
26.2 Information to Include
To help us review your complaint, please include where applicable:
- your full name and contact details;
- a description of the right you believe has been infringed;
- identification of the material you believe is infringing, with enough detail for us to locate it;
- the relevant URL, screenshot, recipe title, source link, username, or other identifying information;
- an explanation of why you believe the use is unauthorised or unlawful;
- if you are acting for a rights holder, evidence that you are authorised to act on their behalf;
- any other information or supporting documents reasonably necessary for us to assess the complaint.
26.3 Our Review Process
Once we receive a complaint, we may:
- request additional information;
- temporarily or permanently remove or restrict access to the relevant content;
- disable imports from a relevant source;
- notify the relevant user where appropriate;
- take any other action we reasonably consider necessary to investigate, comply with law, enforce our Terms, or protect rights, users, or the Services.
We are not required to provide a detailed explanation of the outcome of every complaint, but we may do so where appropriate.
26.4 False or Misleading Complaints
You must not submit complaints that are false, misleading, abusive, automated, or made in bad faith.
26.5 Other Legal Requests
If your request relates to rights or laws outside of copyright law, you may still contact us at team@foundersbrain.app and we will review the matter under applicable law and our internal policies.
27. Beta and Experimental Features
Some features may be marked as beta, experimental, preview, or similar. These features may be modified, suspended, or removed at any time and may be more prone to errors or limitations. Beta features are provided "as is" without any warranty.
